Occasionally, during emoticon maturity, the emoticon will spontaneously shed its skin. This helps to strengthen the hide of the creature and to help develop the emoticons' colors. As you know, emoticons come in all sorts of colors, and because of this it is nearly impossible to predict what color a newborn, and colorless, emoticon will be until after it matures.
